Coursera is seeking a strategic and innovative Senior Merchandising Manager to lead and elevate our merchandising approach across platforms and channels. In this pivotal role, you will drive the strategy and execution of content and category merchandising, focusing on maximizing learner engagement and driving revenue growth. You will run experiments and analyze performance data and trends to optimize offerings and ensure that users receive the most relevant and impactful content while driving business results. Collaborating with various teams, you will introduce new capabilities, design experiments, and refine our merchandising tactics to enhance the overall educational experience. This role is ideal for a creative and analytical marketer passionate about education and consumer growth.
Responsibilities:
- Merchandising Strategy: Create and implement comprehensive merchandising strategies that enhance content presentation and learner engagement; identify opportunities for growth, market penetration, and category expansion.
- Experimentation and Optimization: Design and execute merchandising experiments on key pages and placements to continuously improve content presentation and user experience.
- Visual and Content Merchandising: Lead visual and content merchandising strategy to optimize how content is presented, ensuring effective content differentiation and positioning to assist in learner decision-making.
- Campaign Execution: Develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns to support business goals, collaborating with cross-functional teams from brief development to execution and reporting.
- Merchandising Capabilities: Work with cross-functional teams to introduce, test, and enhance merchandising capabilities across the platform.
- Data-Driven Insights: Deeply understand learner behavior, user journeys, page performance, and content trends to guide merchandising decisions and maximize impact.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field with a minimum of 7 years of experience in merchandising or a related role and a demonstrated track record of driving revenue growth.
- Demonstrated experience running experiments and executing high-impact merchandising strategies in a digital or e-commerce environment.
- Proven success in developing and executing integrated go-to-market plans that achieve measurable business results, with the ability to think strategically while executing tactically.
- Proficiency with merchandising tools and platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Optimizely, Tableau,
- Adobe Commerce, Nosto, Hotjar, etc.).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present and influence at all organizational levels.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and trends to inform strategic decisions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong project management skills with experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Track record of developing and implementing scalable, repeatable marketing processes.
- A proactive mindset with the ability to act decisively, take initiative, and move projects forward efficiently while bringing others along the journey.
- Creative thinker with a proven ability to innovate and drive continuous improvement in merchandising effectiveness.
- Familiarity with global market dynamics and developing culturally relevant merchandising strategies.

Compensation
Coursera offers competitive pay and equitable compensation practices. Our job titles may span more than one career level. The targeted hiring base salary range for this role is between $111,200 and $139,000 for all Canada candidates. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, including but not limited to prior work experiences, training/education, transferable skills, business needs, and geographical location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for variable pay, equity, and benefits.
