Opportunity Overview

Handshake is looking for experienced electrical engineering researchers to support AI research through flexible, part-time contract work. This is not a traditional job — you'll draw on your hands-on expertise in signal processing, power systems, circuit design, or communications to evaluate AI-generated content and provide feedback that helps AI better understand advanced electrical engineering concepts and research.

This is an ongoing, project-based opportunity you can take on alongside your current work.

What You'll Do

  • Use your domain expertise to create expert-level training questions and scenarios based on real electrical engineering research and technical concepts
  • Review and evaluate AI-generated responses for accuracy and relevance to real-world electrical engineering problems and methods
  • Provide structured written feedback to help improve AI model performance
  • Complete tasks at your own pace with no set schedule or minimum hour requirement

Qualifications

  • PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field from a top 100 US university
  • Deep expertise in one or more areas such as signal processing, power systems, communications, control systems, or circuit design
  • Active use of arxiv.org (eess) to stay current with research
  • Proficiency with MATLAB, Python, SPICE, or similar tools
  • Strong written communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a remote, asynchronous environment
