The role:
Summary:
The IT Support Specialist works within the IT Services team to ensure the smooth running of Valenture Institute’s core IT systems, hardware, and digital infrastructure. This role supports the evolving needs of a large, rapidly expanding, distributed “remote-first” workforce, combining hands-on technical support with process improvement, documentation, and AI-enabled service delivery.
Responsibilities:
Technical Support & Service Delivery
- Provide first-line IT support to VI staff
- Act as a point of escalation for our learner and guardian facing Customer Support team
- Assist with system troubleshooting and testing
- Ensure all tasks are completed within defined SLAs
System Administration
- Google Workspace administration including user, group, file, and OU management
- Microsoft 365 administration including user, licence, and security management
- Microsoft Intune and Endpoint Manager administration for device provisioning, security policy enforcement, and application deployment
- Licence and SaaS management, administration, and audits
- Assist with the administration, configuration, setup, and maintenance of enterprise systems
Onboarding, Offboarding and Asset Management
- Execute team member onboarding and offboarding processes (e.g. platform access) while adhering to internal policies and procedures
- Coordinate hardware procurement, setup, delivery, returns, collections, warranty claims, repairs, reallocation, and asset tracking
Documentation and Training
- Develop and maintain internal processes, procedures, frameworks, and manuals in Confluence.
- Develop and maintain training material and guides for IT-related matters
- Daily, weekly, and monthly reporting on key performance areas
Security and Compliance
- Assist with investigation and resolution of security audits and incidents
- Engage with vendors and service providers to address hardware, connectivity, and access issues
On-Site Support
- Provide on-site IT, AV, access control, and networking support at physical offices as required
Requirements:
- Matric
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience with Microsoft Intune and Endpoint Manager for device management
- Google Workspace admin experience
- Familiarity with ITSM platforms
- Strong problem solving aptitude, fast learner with a proactive approach
- Ability to work under pressure and after hours to resolve urgent IT issues
- Ability to adapt to emerging technologies, including AI-driven support and monitoring solutions
- Customer service mindset
- Ability to work from VI offices as and when required
- Proven IT support experience
Advantageous:
- Tertiary qualification in IT-related field
- Salesforce admin experience and/or certification
- Google Workspace certification
- Relevant Microsoft experience and/or certification
- Experience with AI tools for productivity, troubleshooting or automation
