Job Summary
The Educational Technologist plays a pivotal role in managing and optimising the academic delivery platforms and systems. This position involves setting up, maintaining, and troubleshooting various academic and operational systems to ensure seamless learner and faculty experiences. The Educational Technologist will be responsible for the configuration, quality assurance, and management of course materials, assessments, grading systems, and event schedules. They will also collaborate with multiple stakeholders, including faculty, learners, and administrative teams, to address queries and issues, maintain accuracy in records, and ensure operational efficiency.
Summary of Tasks and Responsibilities
Learning Technology Management
- Course and Grading Setup – Configure and manage course structures and assessments within the LMS to ensure accurate alignment with benchmarks.
- Learning Design Plan (LDP) Updates and Alignment – Ensure LDPs remain up-to-date and aligned.
- Error Resolution – Identify, investigate, and resolve technical or content-related issues within learning platforms to maintain academic integrity and operational efficiency.
- School-Based Assessment (SBA) Management – Oversee the setup, administration, and tracking of SBAs, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal guidelines.
- Data and Reporting – Utilise data related to course engagement, assessment performance, and learner progress for continuous improvement and compliance purposes.
- Mastery Checks and Quality Assurance (QA) – Conduct systematic checks on courses, assessments, and grading processes to ensure instructional quality and policy adherence.
- Online Learning Campus (OLC) Updates and Changes – Maintain and update content, communication, and resources on the OLC, ensuring alignment with academic needs.
- Override Management – Process and manage override requests related to grading, assessment access, and system functionalities, ensuring adherence to academic policies.
Grading Administration and Support
- Tracking and Monitoring – Continuously monitor grading activities to ensure timely submission and accuracy, addressing any discrepancies proactively.
- Grading and Post-Moderation Feed Management – Oversee grading processes, facilitate post-moderation reviews, and update grading records in accordance with academic policies.
- Discrepancy Reports – Identify, document, and resolve grading discrepancies through regular audits and engagement with academic staff.
- Grading Queries and Appeals – Address and manage learner and faculty inquiries regarding grades, appeals, and moderation processes while ensuring transparency and fairness.
Presentation and Event Coordination
- Timetables and Event Management – Plan, update, and coordinate timetables, ensuring seamless scheduling of academic sessions, assessments, and events.
- Event Updates and Adjustments – Make real-time adjustments to academic event schedules to accommodate unforeseen changes or operational requirements.
- Cycle Test and Exam Preparation – Coordinate the logistics of cycle tests and examinations, ensuring assessment materials, venues (where applicable), and invigilators are in place.
- Scheduling and Component Setup – Manage scheduling processes and configure essential assessment components, ensuring alignment with academic calendars.
- Assessment Management and Monitoring – Oversee assessment logistics, monitor submission processes, and ensure compliance with deadlines and academic policies.
- Submissions and Appeals – Manage submission workflows, track learner appeals, and coordinate resolution processes in collaboration with academic teams.
Requirements:
