The role:

Summary:

The Business Process & Quality Analyst plays a key role in ensuring that the Technology team delivers reliable, efficient, and fit-for-purpose systems and processes that enable operational excellence across UCT Online High School.

This role combines business process analysis, system validation, and quality assurance to ensure that digital tools and workflows are optimised, well-documented, and consistently meet stakeholder needs. They bridge the gap between business requirements and technical implementation, driving both process improvement and delivery quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyse and document operational processes across teams to identify inefficiencies, dependencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain playbooks and knowledge documentation for core systems and workflows.
  • Design and execute test plans, test cases, and validation procedures to ensure system changes meet defined requirements.
  • Collaborate with developers, software testers and business stakeholders to ensure successful delivery and adoption of new system features or automations.
  • Monitor and evaluate process performance post-implementation to ensure intended outcomes are achieved.
  • Support release management and UAT processes by coordinating testing, tracking issues, and validating fixes. Perform post-deployment validation and regression testing as necessary.
  • Contribute to the establishment of internal QA standards, checklists, and continuous improvement practices within the Technology team.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to improve process reliability, user experience, and overall operational quality.
  • Prepare and deliver handovers to business stakeholders including training materials, user guides and presentations as appropriate.
  • Assist with resolution of technical issues that require business process insight and context.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, BComm Information Systems or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in Business Analysis or Quality Assurance.
  • Experience and knowledge of the software development life cycle (SDLC).
  • Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.
  • Experience using issue and project management tools (e.g. Jira, ClickUp).
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under pressure and outside of standard office hours to resolve urgent tech issues and facilitate deployments.
  • Customer service oriented mindset.
